For a WKE-Positive Displacement blower type SH 72 with a volume flow of 10.800 m³/h, used at Messrs. Nolte Holzwerkstoffe in Germersheim for transport of wooden chips, in summer 2009 the overhauling as scheduled was due. But for the time being the efforts of maintenance manager Manfred Roos, to ask for a quotation for overhauling, were not successful.
Revision at high speed
This was only possible by means of the cooperation of Aerzener Maschinenfabrik with Abaris: On 27th July the plants were shutdown, the blower stage was removed from the plant and sent to Abaris, Belgium. There they were overhauled within less than two weeks and reinstalled and commissioned by an Aerzen service technician already two days before the agreed date. Since then it is running without any problems.
Close co-operation
Nolte-maintenance manager Roos was impressed by the smooth progression under pressure, which was only possible thanks to direct agreements and close coordination between Nolte, the Aerzen parent company and Abaris: “For us it was a very high risk to carry out the repair with such a short standstill-period. The more pleasant is, that we could start working again two days earlier than scheduled! In future we will have repairs carried out on various Positive Displacement blowers by the cooperation partners Aerzen and Abaris.”
