145 years Aerzener Maschinenfabrik
1973 up to now: “one step ahead”

In 1970 Aerzener Maschinenfabrik invests on a large scale into most modern production technology. New boring machines, turning lathes and milling machines are used, as well as new, ultra-modern test benches. By means of this technology in 1978 the largest Positive Displacement blower of the world is manufactured in Aerzen. With a piston diameter of 1,5 metres and a driving capacity of about 3 megawatt the giant, which is used in steel production, conveys up to 84.000 m³/h process gas. In 1980 Aerzener Maschinenfabrik comes up with something even better and amazes the experts with the world’s largest screw compressor, which, with a rotor diameter of 845 millimetres compresses even 65.000 m³/h process gas.

Taking over Messrs. Emmerthaler Apparatebau enables Aerzener Maschinenfabrik to supply complete units and plant components. For Aerzen Gas Meters, which are already approved since 1974 in all countries of the European Community as first Rotary Piston Meters, a calibrating station is now available. In 1989 the 250.000th Positive Displacement blower is manufactured in Aerzen. One year later for the first time Aerzener Maschinenfabrik has more than 1.000 employees. In the year 2000 Hasso Heller retires from operational business and hands over the Management to his son, Klaus-Hasso Heller.

In 2003 Messrs. RKR in Rinteln is taken over. After founding Aerzen Asia in the year 2004 Aerzener Maschinenfabrik meanwhile has more than 20 subsidiary companies worldwide – up to now more than ten further subsidiary companies added. Booming years follow, during which there is such a considerable demand for the products made by Aerzener Maschinenfabrik worldwide, that the production can hardly keep up with it. In order to supply the increasing demand, in 2008 the new, ultra-modern production centre is opened in Aerzen, with which the manufacturing capacities are increased considerably. In the same year the expansion of Messrs. Emmerthaler Apparatebau is completed. Now, in the year 2009, the former agricultural machine factory with 60 employees became a company doing business worldwide with about 1.600 employees in 28 countries, an annual turnover of 270 million Euro and an annual production of 14.000 blowers, 10.000 compressors and more than 1.000 gas meters. We are proud of this success story, especially as our customers confirm again and again: Aerzener Maschinenfabrik is worldwide recognized quality leader in all product segments, so that now applies as well as 145 years ago: Aerzen – one step ahead!
