Innovative compressors from Aerzen

Since 1943 already Aerzener Maschinenfabrik GmbH manufactures and develops Screw compressors for nearly all cases of requirement of air- and gas compression. Especially in oil-injected compressed air technology Aerzen has experiences of more than 3 decades and thus counts among the well-established and biggest manufacturers in Europe.
The successful Screw compressors series VMX are delivered as components to manufacturers of movable and stationary compressed air compressors, which manufacture the accessories or the components of the plant – oil cooler, oil separator, base frame etc. – and complete them themselves.
This series was revised completely and now covers with 10 sizes volume flows from 70 up to 3.200 m³/h and drive capacities from 15 up to 355 kW. The admissible differential pressures were increased as standard to 15 bar (single-stage) , in vacuum operation single-stage intake pressures up to 0,1 bar abs. were achieved.
The unit is driven optionally directly or via belt drive, all the compressor stages are also suitable for frequency converter operation. In addition in the higher capacity range two gearbox versions with as standard 4 possible ratios were developed, delivering volume flows from 690 up to 3.200 m³/h or drive capacities from 75 up to 355 kW. The gearbox machines were designed for especially robust applications and offer a flexible direction of rotation, which has an advantageous effect, e.g. when using Diesel engines.
The new VMX-series all in all distinguishes by an adaptation of the screw profiles with larger diameters. Aerzener Maschinenfabrik translates the market trend to slowly running Screw compressors successfully into action. Looking onto the performance curves proves: while the previous model VMX 0937 R with a drive of 22 kW and differential pressure of 10 bar required a speed of 6.300 rpm., with the same performance data the speed could be reduced to 3.450 rpm for the new size VMX 22 R. This makes a longer lifetime of the bearings possible and simultaneously reduces the Life-Cycle-Costs. Furthermore the sound level is reduced considerably and the innovative VMX-compressors can thus minimize the costs for acoustic hoods and silencers in unit manufacturing.
Further essential advantages of the new, oil-injected compressors are the favourable price-performance ratio due to innovative production possibilities and an energetically optimised screw profile, guaranteeing especially high efficiency and consequently energy-saving operation. The Aerzen VMX-compressors also distinguish by a high operating safety and low maintenance costs, due to the installation of only few wear parts.
