DELTA TWIN – series expanded

The successful DELTA TWIN compressed air units made by Aerzener Maschinenfabrik GmbH were expanded by three new sizes. The customer can select from one of the most extensive compressor series the optimal and most favourable-priced unit for his case of application. With totally 10 sizes the DELTA TWIN-series can now realize volume flows from 500 m³/h up to 3.100 m³/h and differential pressures up to 10,5 bar. The absolutely oil-free working screw compressor units are available as water- and air-cooled designs, the possible drive capacity was extended to up to 355 kW.
While the lower volume flow range up to 2.000 m³/h and 200 kW motor rating is realized by belt drive, the new sizes for 250 kW, 310 kW and 355 kW distinguish by direct drive. The double-stage compressors are installed as “tandem-construction”, i.e. one behind the other and connected by two smaller gearbox couplings. This guarantees an easy adaptability, an optimal access to all components as well as maintenance also of the individual stages. Beyond that the innovative units distinguish by a high regulating range of 25% to 100% and customer specific adaptation possibilities concerning materials and drives. Besides electric motors e.g. Diesel engines can also be used.
According to users’ requirements of economical compressed-air production and in view of development, special emphasis has been put on the efficiency of the ‘heart’ of the units - the screw compressor, each existing as high- and as low pressure stage. Thanks to constructive modifications of the rotors and the housings a considerable efficiency increase of up to 7% of the compressors could be finally achieved compared with similar machines of competitors. Depending on electricity rate, motor rating and annual use of the compressed air unit a considerable saving potential for the user can develop.
For the adaptation to the varying compressed-air consumption the units made by Aerzener now offer an integrated frequency converter in the power cabinet (for the time being for 75 and 90 kW). This will save space requirement and costly connections. Besides this, in future even complete solutions with installed dryer can be offered. The absorption dryer especially designed for the DELTA TWIN-series distinguishes itself due to an excellent efficiency, as the compressed air generated is treated without any capacity reduction.
Another special feature of the oil-free compressor units is the drive for motor ratings from 75 kW up to 200 kW via V-belts, with which a good speed adjustment and mainly, lower investment costs compared with directly driven compressor units can be realized. In addition, the usual maintenance work on this type of drive (manual retightening of the V-belts) can be avoided thanks to this new design of the Aerzener Maschinenfabrik. In view of Aerzen compressed-air unit the motor is installed on a hinged mounting plate always ensuring an optimum belt tension due to motor’s own weight. Even after longer operation periods - a manual retightening is not necessary anymore.
Further advantages of this innovative series DELTA TWIN are the compact and space-saving construction as well as several modification possibilities in the range of the acoustic hood, drive and control system making individual customer solutions possible.
Series DELTA TWIN is designed for the conveyance of air and neutral gases and is especially applied in the industrial compressed-air production not only required as working- or process air for compressed-air tools and spray-coating plants, in the foodstuff industry and in chemical resp. physical processes but also as control air for pneumatic control systems and in many other branches.
